Women's Soccer 2022 Season Preview

After three scrimmages with two at home, the season will officially open August 25th against Wingate and August 28th against Tusculum. In three games against the Tusculum Pioneers, the Mountain Lions are 1-1-1. 

Wednesday, August 31st will be the first road game of the season at Carson-Newman. C-N has the edge in the series, winning three of the five games. 

Monday, September 5th will be another road game, this time at Montevallo. Each side has won three encounters out of six played. 

Saturday, September 10th Young Harris return home to face Georgia College. GC has a slight advantage in the eleven-game series, as they've won six. 

Wednesday, September 14th will be a Dahlonega game at the always-challenging North Georgia Nighthawks for an installment in the year-long Battle of Blood Mountain. NG has a dominant edge, as they've won eleven of twelve encounters.
 
Saturday, September 17th will see YHC return home against the Rams of Albany State. Young Harris has not only won all three games in a series that started in 2017, but they have yet to yield a goal.

After a week off, the Mountain Lions continue their league schedule at South Carolina-Aiken. YHC has won five-of-nine in the series. 

Wednesday, September 28th will see Young Harris continue their road trip at Georgia Southwestern. Young Harris has dominated this ten-game series, as they're not only 9-1 but they've scored 49 goals and yielded 2. 

Wednesday, October 5th will see YHC return home to face Columbus State. CS has had YHC's number since the series started in 2012 as Young Harris has yet to come out on top in ten meetings. 

After a first-time meeting Saturday, October 8th opposite South Carolina-Beaufort, YHC will hit Greenwood, South Carolina on Wednesday, October 12th to take on Lande. LU has a slight edge in the ten-game series as they've won six times to YHC's four. 

Young Harris will return home Saturday, October 15th to take on Clayton State, a series where CS holds an 8W-3L-1D advantage.

Lincoln Memorial travels to the Enchanted Valley on Wednesday, October 19th for the first non-conference contest since early September and the first YHC-LMU game since 2018. The four-game series is evenly split with each team having won two. 

And the regular season will conclude on Saturday, October 22nd in St. Augustine with a matchup against Flagler College. FC has a firm grip on the series thus far with a 7W-2L-2D record. 

In terms of the PBC tournament, which begins the last weekend in October, the top two seeds will host both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, with the highest remaining seed hosting the final.
