Men's Lacrosse: Ground Balls: March to 300

The program record is 327 courtesy of Zach Stephenson, a record which has been in place since 2018.  Senior Jacob Haas picked up 264 in just 44 games, meaning he needs 36 to get 300 and 64 to break the record. 

Men's Lacrosse Update: Goalie Games Played

Junior Dylan Wilbur , who extended his program record with start thirty-six, appeared in his fortieth game in goal on Saturday, tying Mason King for second all-time. The 2023-24 Career Records Tracker: Updated Wednesday, March 20

The first career record reset in 2023-24 was in women's soccer, when Alexis Scarpinato broke the record for career goals. The second was also in women's soccer, as Scarpinato's three PKs on the season gave her four (on four attempts) for her career, moving past Aimee Durn for top spot.  The third was in men's lacrosse, when junior goalie Dylan Wilbur broke Mason King's record for career saves. The fourth was also in men's lacrosse, when Wilbur broke Mason King's record for goalie minutes (Wilbur- now with 2,043- is the first men's goalie with 2,000 minutes for Young Harris lacrosse). The fifth was in Saturday's men's lacrosse game against Belmont Abbey, with Wilbur- tallying start number thirty-five in goal- breaking a tie with Mason King for top spot.  The women's lacrosse team has one as well- the sixth of the school year. Junior attacker Tommy Chriszt now has 47 goals in his 38-game career, tying alumnus Connor Leies for tenth all-time. Ninth is Matty Ledon with 56.

Men's Lacrosse Update

Junior goalie Dylan Wilbur now has a second career record in his possession. With 1,998 minutes (just over thirty-three hours) he moves past Mason King for the top spot (he already has the team saves record with 443 and counting). 

Baseball Pitching Update

After his appearance in the nightcap yesterday, junior Dylan Beck tallied several milestones.  In addition to sixty appearances on the mound, he tallied his fifteenth win, moving him into a tie for third in the program's NCAA-era with Michael Livingston and Josh Rudnik.  With five victories in eleven appearances this year, he has an opportunity to set a season-best for wins (his six victories in 2022 came in twenty-three appearances). With four saves in his eleven appearances this year he now has nine for his career, moving into second in the program's NCAA-era.

Junior Jeremy Begora has one this year and four across two seasons, tying Zach Odom and Josh Rudnik for sixth in the program's NCAA-era. Fifth on the list is Trey Rogers with five. 

Baseball: Pitcher Appearances

Heading into today's doubleheader, junior Dylan Beck has logged 59 appearances on the mound, which is the new ninth-best career mark. William Leatherwood, with 61 appearances, is currently eighth.

Junior Abbie Gallagher has now appeared in 27 games in goal. Fourth on the list is Sarah Nudelman with 33 appearances. 

Women's Lacrosse Top Five Update: Caused Turnovers

Senior Kinsley Purser now has 57 in 55 games, which is the new fifth-best career mark (fourth is Jaclyn Kernohan with 61). Classmate Ella Hancock has 55, which is tied for sixth with Taylor Lincoln.   

Women's Lacrosse: Goals, Assists and Points

Senior midfielder Ella Hancock is now a member of the 100-goals club- the sixth member of the club and first inductee since 2019. She's currently seventh with 101 goals (Erika Cross, with 103, is currently sixth).  In addition, she's tied Kendra Parenteau for second all-time with 73 assists. Hancock's 101 goals and 73 assists (in just 55 games) give her 174 points, which is fourth all-time. 

Women's Lacrosse: Most Draw Controls in a Career

Team alumnus Meghan Tonnesen currently has the program record with 236 draw control wins, with her final two coming April 29th, 2018. After the most recent game on Saturday, senior midfielder Ella Hancock has 229- just seven back.  Fellow senior Kinsley Purser has 141, which is fifth-most. 

Men's Lacrosse: Dylan Wilbur's Chase of Program Records

Where does junior goalie Dylan Wilbur stand in terms of program records?  He's tied the program records for starts by a goalie with 34, tying Mason King.  He already has the program record for saves with 431- the previous best was 397, also held by King.  *Wilbur and Rachel Robb are the only lacrosse goalies in Young Harris history with 400 saves.  His 1,940 minutes (just over thirty-two hours) is the second-best mark in team history, only trailing (again) King.  *Dylan needs 56 minutes to tie the record and 60 minutes to become the first men's lacrosse goalie at Young Harris with 2,000 minutes. 

Women's Basketball Updates: Part One

Senior Trinity Edwards joined the 1500-minutes club as she now has 1,540.  Her appearance yesterday was the fifth-fifth of her career.  She had 119 defensive rebounds this season after 90 last season.  Junior JaMari Frederick now has 576 points, which is thirteenth-most in school history. Twelfth on the list is Kalen Surles with 579.  Her 113 assists is the new thirteenth-best mark, moving past Bria Clemmons (twelfth is Shaquaya Daniels with 118).  She surpassed 1700 minutes and now has 1,728 for her career. She set two milestones this year with her first 30-game season and her first 300-point season for the Mountain Lions, and she added a third with her fiftieth career start.  Sophomore Lily Griffith improved significantly in effectively all categories in her second season: 23 starts this year after 17 as a freshman. 876 minutes at 30 per game this year after 590 at 20 per game as a freshman.  129 defensive rebounds this year after 47 as a freshman...

With nine pitching appearances this year, she has appeared sixty times in the circle as a Mountain Lion- seventh all-time in the program's NCAA-era. Louisa Disi, with 61 appearances, is currently sixth.  Her 56 starts is the new fourth-best mark. Third is Nikkie Kovalsky with 66.  Her 135 strikeouts is tied for eighth with Dharma Rosbrugh (seventh is Katie-Jo Gentry with 187).

Women's Lacrosse Updates

Senior midfielder Ella Hancock now has 96 goals and 68 assists for 164 points after her six-goal, nine-point showing yesterday. Her 96 goals is now eighth all-time, her 68 assists extends her third-best mark and her 164 points is now fifth.  With her thirty-eight minutes in goal yesterday against Belmont Abbey, junior goalie Abbie Gallagher appeared in her twenty-fifth game for the Mountain Lions. 

Basketball Updates

Women Senior Trinity Edwards appeared in her twenty-seventh game of the season, which is a new season-best for her after appearing 26 times in 2022-23.  Junior JaMari Frederick now has the thirteenth-most minutes in team history with 1,668, moving past Kaycee Cash. Twelfth on the list is Niaya White with 2,069.  Sophomore Lily Griffith has surpassed 1400 minutes- she now has 1,402 in 56 games.
