Saturday Highlights (April 1st)
Softball
Despite being swept in both games by North Georgia, sophomore utility player/pitcher Kylie Ferguson was impressive in the opening game, going the distance in the circle in her forty-second pitching appearance (moving past alumnus Dharma Rosbrugh and into eighth all-time). It was her fourth complete game of the season and eleventh of her career, moving into seventh by herself in that category. Rosbrugh's thirteen CGs are the sixth-best mark. Her seven innings on the day gives her 186 for her career, which is 0.2 innings behind current assistant coach Sam Davis in seventh.
Baseball
A 13-1 win over Columbus State was the third straight for Young Harris and clinched the Peach Belt series- their fifth straight.
Senior second baseman Ethan Underwood notched his twenty-fifth career double to tie for fifteenth in the program's NCAA era while his seventy-seventh walk means he's tied for fifth. A 2-for-4 performance means that, with 139 hits, he needs five to move into the top fifteen and his two runs extends his eighth-best mark to 125.
Classmate right fielder Rome Wallace drove in RBI number 110 for his career and is one back of eighth-best Logan Worley.
Junior faceoff specialist/midfielder Jacob Haas reached a pair of milestones with his 8 ground balls and 13 faceoff wins. His eighth ground ball was the 170th of his career, extending his third-best mark on the men's side, while his seventh of the day meant he moved past alumnus Rachel Lepine and into third all-time across both teams (Lepine finished her career with 168 and sits fourth). Meanwhile, his third faceoff win was the 300th of his career and he currently has 310.
Meanwhile, sophomore goalie Dylan Wilbur extended his fourth-best mark with his 27th goalie appearance (alumnus Bobby Parker drops to fifth with 25 while fellow alumnus Ryan Pickowitz is third with 30 appearances) and extended his third-best mark with 1,455 minutes (Sean Dever holds the second spot with 1,762).
*It's also worth noting that we could see a program record broken this season, as Wilbur is 62 saves away from alumnus Mason King's team-record 397 saves.
