2023 Volleyball Preview: Career Games Played

Middle Hitter Sophie Bearden is returning for her junior season. She's tied for sixth with 54 appearances. 

Defensive specialist Joha Bernis is returning for her junior season. Her 57 appearances is currently tied for fourth all-time. 

Setter Alex Boydstone is returning for her junior season. She's currently third all-time with 64 appearances and, with 644 assists, is 56 assists away from being the first Mountain Lion volleyballer with 700 helpers. 

Outside Hitter Lily Hidalgo is returning for her junior season. She's tied for fourth with Bernis with 57 appearances. 

Outside Hitter Nicole Klucharich is returning for her junior season. Her 27 appearances are three away from the top ten. 

After a 533-assist season (19 per game) in her debut with the team last year- the first 500-assist season in team history- setter Mollie Lawrence is returning for her junior season. Her 28 appearances places her two back of the top ten. 

Defensive Specialist Kallee McKinney is returning for her junior season. Her 68 appearances is currently second all-time- only Kori Still has more.

Middle Hitter Shelby Mullins is returning for her junior season. She's tied with Bearden for sixth with 54 games played. 

Sophomore outside/right side hitter Abby Schirm is the only returning underclassman on the team after playing in 12 games as a freshman. Although outside of the top ten she needs just seven games to move into the top fifteen.   

Defensive Specialist Kori Still is returning for her junior season. She holds the current program record with 69 appearances and needs just one game to be the first Mountain Lion volleyballer to appear in 70 games. 

Outside/Right Side Hitter Lorin Tidick is returning for her junior season. Her 45 games played is currently seventh. 

Outside Hitter Chase Vaigneur is returning for her junior season. She's currently fifth all-time with 55 appearances.

Starting a 200 Club: Softball

Jackson Jones is a member of this club as he's appeared 204 times for the baseball team. In this blog post, though, I'm looking to add names to the list and I'm starting with the softball alumni.  Grace Botti appeared 222 times between 2016 and 2019  Murphy Davis appeared 214 times between 2015 and 2018 Sarah Magill appeared 205 times between 2013 and 2016  Chandler Stooksbury appeared 208 times between 2014 and 2017  Jill Torres appeared 244 times between 2017 and 2021 Haylie Shope , if pitcher and first base appearances are separate, had 183 appearances at first base and 34 in the circle for 217 total. We then add 47 appearances in basketball and she appeared 264 times overall between 2018 and 2021 (she's in the 200 club with the 47 basketball games played as she's at 230 without the pitching appearances).  So thus far, this is the 200 Club: Grace Botti Murphy Davis Jackson Jones Sarah Magill  Haylie Shope  Chandler Stooksbury Jill Torres

Women's Lacrosse: Career Goals Update

If the season is over (and if she's not returning for her grad year), senior attacker Ashlyn Fraley will finish up a 71-game Young Harris career with 136 goals, the fifth-most in Mountain Lion women's lacrosse history. Only Nicole Kernohan, Kendra Parenteau, Taylor Greenberg and Ella Hancock have scored more.   *It's worth noting, however, that Fraley is the only person in the top five in terms of goals to need less than 200 shots on goal to get her goals- she only need 199 shots on target, so she scored on an impressive 68% of her shots on frame.
