Men's Cross Country: Appearances entering 2023

The previous blog posts have been about either soccer or volleyball, so let's talk a bit about the men's cross country team, which will have seven returning harriers for the upcoming season. 

Junior Kai Vigardt has appeared in 13 meets over his career and can reach the 15-meet milestone at the Queen City Invitational on September 15th. 

Juniors Hayden Durrett and Jack Rush have both appeared in 12 meets in their careers and can reach the 15-meet milestone at the NCAA Southeast Regional Preview on September 30th. 

Junior Liam King has appeared in 11 meets over two seasons and can reach the 15-meet milestone at the UAH Invitational on October 7th. 

Junior Dylan DiCicco and sophomores Noah Mason and Matthew Honeycutt have each appeared in 6 meets and can reach the 10-meet milestone at the UAH Invite.

Starting a 200 Club: Softball

Jackson Jones is a member of this club as he's appeared 204 times for the baseball team. In this blog post, though, I'm looking to add names to the list and I'm starting with the softball alumni.  Grace Botti appeared 222 times between 2016 and 2019  Murphy Davis appeared 214 times between 2015 and 2018 Sarah Magill appeared 205 times between 2013 and 2016  Chandler Stooksbury appeared 208 times between 2014 and 2017  Jill Torres appeared 244 times between 2017 and 2021 Haylie Shope , if pitcher and first base appearances are separate, had 183 appearances at first base and 34 in the circle for 217 total. We then add 47 appearances in basketball and she appeared 264 times overall between 2018 and 2021 (she's in the 200 club with the 47 basketball games played as she's at 230 without the pitching appearances).  So thus far, this is the 200 Club: Grace Botti Murphy Davis Jackson Jones Sarah Magill  Haylie Shope  Chandler Stooksbury Jill Torres

Women's Lacrosse: Career Goals Update

If the season is over (and if she's not returning for her grad year), senior attacker Ashlyn Fraley will finish up a 71-game Young Harris career with 136 goals, the fifth-most in Mountain Lion women's lacrosse history. Only Nicole Kernohan, Kendra Parenteau, Taylor Greenberg and Ella Hancock have scored more.   *It's worth noting, however, that Fraley is the only person in the top five in terms of goals to need less than 200 shots on goal to get her goals- she only need 199 shots on target, so she scored on an impressive 68% of her shots on frame.
